2023 Winning Team with their homemade “bed”
North Canaan Events Committee will continue to host Canaan Railroad Days retaining the traditional events that have made the festival the mainstay of the Northwest Corner during the summer. This year’s 60th Anniversary Railroad Days festival will include community dinners, a carnival, Firemen’s Parade, Train Hunt, vendor market, Family Fun Week, Roaming Railroad, coupled with a drone show and fireworks. New activities are still in the planning!
Bed Race

A fun opportunity for businesses, family or friends alike to dress up, build a “bed” and race to the finish!

Train Hunt
July 7th-21st, 2024
Fun event for all ages! The perfect opportunity to explore our town while trying to win prizes! Donations all received from local, participating businesses.

Family Fun Week
July 8th-July 11th, 2024
4 nights packed full of free, fun, family events!
You can look forward to Literacy night, Community Helper night, a Pool Party and the annual Ping Pong Ball Drop on Family Fun Nite!

Carnival

Rides, games, food trucks, ice cream truck, and fun!
Wednesday: 6pm-10pm ($25 wristbands)
Thursday: 6pm-10pm ($25 wristbands)
Friday: 6pm-10pm ($25 wristbands)
Saturday: 3pm-10pm ($35 wristbands)
Ticket booths will open 30 minutes prior to riding
Roaming Railroad

A fun family attraction! A trackless train will be downtown to shuttle you from one location to the next or to just to enjoy the ride!
